Tours of the Historic House Museum

The Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace in Savannah, Georgia welcomes individuals and families for tours of our National Historic Landmark. The Birthplace has earned the distinction of being one of the most popular house museums in the United States. Enjoy Regency-style architecture, exquisite period furnishings and learn about one of our nation’s most influential women.

Since 1956, Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) has proudly owned and operated the Birthplace as a unique national program center for Girl Scouts and as an historic house museum for the general public. The Juliette Low Birthplace, also known as the Wayne-Gordon House, tells the story of a remarkable American family whose history is entwined with that of the City of Savannah, the state of Georgia and the nation.

Tours for the general public and Girl Scout individuals start about every 15 minutes. No reservations are required for individuals or families who wish to tour the Birthplace. Focus Tours at the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace

At 4:00 pm, on selected dates, the expert professional staff of the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace will lead in-depth focus tours of the historic house. The tours are by reservation only. Fill out our  reservation form.

 

Civil War Journeys

Explore Savannah’s Civil War experience. From battles to surrender, shortages and trials, through the visit of Union General William Tecumseh Sherman, the story is always engaging. Like many American families, the Gordons had friends and family fighting on both sides of the conflict. Expert professional staff lead an in-depth tour of the Juliette Low Birthplace with a focus on the Civil War era.

The Girl Scout Movement

Discover how Juliette Gordon Low, known for funny and unusual antics, artistic talent and disorganization came to found the worlds largest organization of Girls and Women. Using primary sources from archives, expert professional staff lead a fascinating tour of the Birthplace focusing specifically on the amazing history of the Girl Scouts. The tour includes a special viewing of the Girl Scout collection which includes uniforms, insignia, books and more. The manager of the Birthplace Archives and Girl Scout collections leads this lively in-depth tour.


 

Evening Special Events

Gaslight Tours
The elegant Birthplace of Juliette Low will open for special evening tours. See the grand home in the glittering low light of the gaslight era, and let imagination transport you back to the past. The historic house is a must see destination for Savannah' visitors, especially for rare evening tours. So travel back to 1886 and the gaslight era.

Victorian Christmas Gaslight Tours
