Girl Scout Heritage Visit for Troops
The Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace is an exciting destination for Girl Scout troops from across the country and around the world. We believe your Girl Scout Heritage Visit travel experience will help you discover, connect and take action and will be an important part of the new Girl Scout leadership experience when you return home.
Our popular Girl Scout Heritage Visit is offered for Girl Scout Junior through Girl Scout Ambassador troops by reservation only. The Birthplace is currently taking reservations for 2009 - 2011. On October 1, 2010, we will begin taking 2012 reservations. Weekends, spring break, and June dates tend to fill up quickly. Fall and winter dates require less advance notice. Please check out our reservation form to inquire about the earliest date convenient for your troop or group and before making travel, accommodations or activity reservations. When submitting a reservation form, please allow us three business days to respond to your inquiry and longer if you submit the request over the weekend.

To Arrange a Tentative Group Reservation
Fill out our
reservation form to arrange for a group reservation. A Girl Scout Troop leader or parent must make the reservation. Please include your full official Girl Scout Troop Number in the field with your last name (e.g. Name - 00000). We will e-mail you a Reservation Request Form, reservation number and date of visit. Please allow us three business days to respond to your reservation inquiry and longer if you submit the reservation form over the weekend.
1. Complete the Reservation Request FormReturn the Reservation Request Form with a credit card number, money order or Girl Scout troop check payable to the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace. The non-refundable reservation fee is $25 for each Girl Scout Heritage Visit requested. (Please do not e-mail your credit or debit card information)
2. ConfirmationYour reservation will be confirmed via e-mail. If you do not receive confirmation within one month of your reservation request, please
contact the Birthplace staff. Use your Birthplace reservation number to identify your troop when making all Savannah reservations for lodging, meals and other activities.
3. ReconfirmationWhen we confirm your visit, we will send you a reconfirmation form. Three months prior to your visit date, all fees, travel itinerary and emergency contact information are due.
4. Check-inBe ready to check in at your assigned time. Girl Scout troops chech in at the Girl Scout Gate, 142 Bull St., 31401. Plan to park all cars and vans at the
Liberty Street Garage, 301 West Liberty Street. 31401, located at the corner of Montgomery and Liberty Street. During check-in, one leader purchases pins, patches and parking passes, and reports the final statistics for their group. When you arrive, you will receive a color-coded tag for each participant.
A Few Tips for Girl Scout Troops
- Call 18-20 months in advance for June, Martin Luther King, Jr., President's Day, and Memorial Day weekends.
- Call 12-18 months in advance for July, August, spring break (especially the weeks before and after Easter), weekends January through May, and Labor Day weekend.
- Call 3-12 months in advance for weekends September through December, weekdays September through mid-March.
- Call for reservations under 3 months if you have a very small troop or to take advantage of late cancellations.
The Birthplace accepts reservations for the program up to two years in advance. For the best possible Birthplace experience, careful planning is required. Brownie Days for Regional Girl Scout Brownie Troops
Calling All Georgia, Northern Florida and Southern South Carolina Troops
For information about Brownie Days, a special Birthplace visit designed for Girl Scout Brownie troops who live within a three-hour drive from Savannah. The themed events each include different songs, games, and crafts. A special activity related to the topic of the event will be held in Daisy's home (instead of a formal house tour).
Participants will earn a Brownie Day Patch. Girl Scout Brownies also work on a Try-It and learn about Daisy Low's life during each session. Girl Scout Brownies should plan to wear their uniform to the event. The sessions compliment each other and offer troops additional opportunities to visit the Birthplace. Brownie Day Fees
- Girl Scout Brownie Troop Reservation Fee $25.00 per group
- Brownie Day Admission Fee $5.50 per person
Reservation and admission fees are non-refundable.
