One Amazing Troop
Someday we’ll go to Savannah!
Girl Scout Senior Troop 4331 – Greater Los Angeles Council - March 7, 2010
We live in California, but for years we’ve been saying, “Someday we will go to Savannah!” It started when we were Daisies, and our leader would tell us about the things we could do when we got older. When we were Girl Scout Brownies, we named our three patrols “Savannah,” “Juliette Low,” and “1912,” and we kept saying, “Someday we will go to Savannah!”
Where is the best place to bridge to Senior Girl Scouts? How do you top Bridging from Girl Scout Juniors to Girl Scout Cadettes crossing the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco with 5,000 other Girl Scouts? The answer for Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles Troop 4331 was to travel across the country to bridge in Savannah, Georgia, where it all began! We had our Bronze and our Silver. It was time to go to Savannah. Someday was now, and we were going to Savannah!
What makes our troop special? Of course it’s the girls, but it’s also the parents and the leaders who guide us along the way.
Senior Girl Scout Troop 4331 from Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles Council in California has been together since we were Girl Scout Daisies in kindergarten. Today we have 13 girls, living in seven different cities and two different states, four hours apart. Each one of us has earned her Bronze and Silver awards, and all of us have begun planning our Gold Awards. Even as Girl Scout Seniors, nearly every parent comes to every troop event, and we have four troop leaders. Here are some of our stories.
