Date: Thu Oct 08, 6:00 PM EST - Thu Oct 08, 8:00 PM EST

Drawing from her highly acclaimed book, educator and historian Dr. Betsy Wood exposes the hidden history of child labor as a fierce battleground between North and South. From 19th-century cotton fields to 20th-century textile mills, Wood traces how conflicting Southern and Northern ideas about family, freedom, and state power collided. Discover how regional struggles over child labor foreshadowed the intense political divides we see in America today.
